Last weekend I traveled to upstate New York with my mom to visit family and to see my parents vacation home they have been remodeling. We stayed with my Aunt Pris and had a lot of fun girl time and lots of laughs! To give you a little background, both my parents are from Jamestown, NY (near Buffalo, very far from NYC). Random fact: Jamestown is Lucille Ball's hometown. There is a really cute museum you can tour. I love Lucy! Anyways, my mom's family still lives up there so we visit all the time (her sister, and 3 brothers and my many cousins). My parents recently bought my Grandparent's house and they have been remodeling it for awhile now. Its an abosultely beautiful property on Lake Chatauqua. They gutted the kitchen and opened it up, added new floors, painted everywhere, added a bathroom, built a new fireplace and much much more. I helped clean and arrange furniture while I was there. I was totally in my element, I just love decorating! Its not done yet but its getting there. My parents have put in so much time to make this place gorgeous and to keep it in the family. I have come to this house every other Christmas since I was a little girl. I have the fondest memories with my family and sweet grandparents there. Everytime we'd arrive, my Grandmother would have the best homemade pizza and a wonderful spread of desserts. She was quite the hostess. I miss her greatly. Eventhough she is gone, her memory will live on in this house. I know my grandparents would approve of all the renovations that have been made. Thanks mom and Pris for a really fun time! Love ya'll! Monday Night Football!

Last night I officially went to my first Cowboys game! This is a pretty big deal for me considering that I'm not really into football or any sports for that matter (those of you who know me would agree that I'm not sports savvy). You'd think after so many years of drill team in high school in which case they made us watch the game and going to ALL the Baylor games I would begin to get into it. Nope...I still don't enjoy football, I go simply for the social reasons. But the Cowboys game was actually pretty fun, I don't think I will go back anytime soon nor will I start watching football on a regular basis but I feel like I've made progress. Derek, aren't you proud? I actually felt guilty for going to the game without my sweet hubby since he is the real football fan and would have appreciated it so much more! My favorite part was watching the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders! But when they weren't dancing, I did actually see a few of the plays. And yes, I was on the lookout for Jessica but I never did find her. I guess seeing her boy, Tony, will do. Thanks to Bain for the experience (I actually went for a work event and I've been able to experience many other things because of work too- they really do know how to spoil their employees).

Well, I finally gave in and decided to create a blog. I'm not sure how interesting my life is or if I'll have much to write about but I think I'll give it a shot. I think I like to decorate my page more than the actual writing bit. I'm excited for Project Runway tonight. I wonder what crazy outfit they will have to design this time. I think the only reason Derek will watch this show with me is to make fun of Tim Gunn. I happen to like him. On another note, did anyone see Fringe last night? It was quite bizarre but I was surprisingly entertained. And its something that Derek and I both enjoyed, which seems very rare these days. I always want to watch my girlie shows and he always wants to watch sports of some sort. So at least we can have one show a week that we agree on!
